Common sodium bentonite mat linings(GCL) have the following defects: 1) The PH value of sodium-based bentonite itself is between 9 and 11; in acidic environments, its anti-seepage performance decreases. 2) Ion exchange properties; in solutions with high metal ion content, the swelling capacity of bentonite significantly decreases, leading to an exponential reduction in its anti-seepage performance. Therefore, the application scope and effectiveness of common GCL are somewhat limited.
Nanjing Sanderay Company has developed a modified clay barrier pad based on this. After trial production and testing, its anti-seepage performance in acidic and high-salt environments also reaches the level of 1E*10^-9 cm/s, expanding the application range of the product. Additionally, due to its maximum thickness exceeding 10mm, its adsorption capacity for metal ions has also been improved.
We selected graded sand, polymer-modified clay and aggregate combination, high-strength polypropylene fiber fabric as the carrier cloth, non-woven fabric surface of high-strength non-woven fiber will firmly needle the modified clay layer in the middle of the fabric, forming a uniform thickness and stable structure of anti-seepage cushion.
